There Are No Genders In Christ?

There Are No Genders In Christ?

I have encountered a number of Christians who hold the belief that there are no significant gender differences in Christ. They therefore believe that men and women have the same function, and that we should not distinguish between the genders when it comes to the church or daily life. Their evidence comes from Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Taken by itself, this verse certainly looks pretty definitive. It says right there that there is neither male nor female, all are one in Christ Jesus! The problem is we cannot just read individual verses. This verse is not meant to be read by itself, but in context with the rest of the chapter, and the letter of Galatians as a whole. Context of Galatians   There is a problem Paul is addressing in the Galatian church, namely, the issue of works righteousness vs. righteousness through faith. In the opening of Galatians Paul states that he is “amazed” that they have so quickly deserted the gospel that he taught them for a different and false “gospel.” In the first two chapters, Paul explains the gospel he taught them came straight from God, and that they should not listen to any other “gospel”. Next, he begins explaining just why the false teaching is false. Context of Galatians chapter 3 Moving into chapter 3, Paul explains that it is Faith which saves, not following the Law (works). “But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up... read more
Wife, Please Go See If That’s A Murderer

Wife, Please Go See If That’s A Murderer

Feminism’s crusade against Chivalry and all things gender specific has been overwhelmingly successful. At one point in time, for better or worse, there were clear gender distinctions. The husband was the provider, and the wife managed the home. The husband was the protector, and the wife was the nurturer. If there was a potential murderer/stalker person parked outside your house, the husband would investigate, not the wife. –  Not anymore.  – After a day of moving and unpacking, the sun had set. No street lights left the road in blackness. The moving truck was parked in front of our driveway, and I sat in front of it in our car. As I was waiting for the truck to move so I could pull our car into our drive, the neighbors began to come down their driveway in their car. Their drive met our street between where I was parked and the moving truck. Before the neighbors could reach the road, they stopped. – The light inside their vehicle turned on, and I saw a man and a woman talking, I’m guessing they were husband and wife. After a few seconds, the wife got out and began to walk toward me. As she approached, I lowered my window. – “Hello!” I said. “Are you with the people moving in?” she asked. I replied in the affirmative. “Okay, just making sure,” she said, then walked back to their car and they drove away. So apparently they were worried I was some kind of stalker or thief staking out their house or something, and yet the wife went to investigate instead of... read more
Why Feminists Will Never Be Happy

Why Feminists Will Never Be Happy

Hello readers! – I wrote a guest post for Generation Cedar. Make sure to check it out!  – – – – –  Feminism has failed. More and more people are starting to realize this fact, but the beast just won’t die! While all of society is worse off for the advance of Feminism, the sad irony is that those who lose out the most are the Feminist women themselves. –  I’m not talking about the first wave of Feminism which campaigned for suffrage and the end of abortion (though this wave was not without flaws). Yes, the first Feminists were staunchly pro-life because they understood how harmful abortion was for women (not to mention it is murder). It is the second and third waves of feminism which have failed us as a society, and failed women most of all. –   The Marxist, Betty Freidan, was the spark that launched what is now modern Feminism. In her book, The Feminine Mystique, she claimed that she, and other women, were unhappy being housewives, and that women desired more than just their husbands, children, and homes. However, she actually wasn’t a “stay-at-home” mom, but worked outside the home. It was her Marxist ideology that drove her to write the book, not her dissatisfaction with being a housewife.  – Nevertheless, was she correct in arguing that women wanted out of the home, less family obligations, and longed for careers in the workforce?  – To read the rest, click... read more
Don’t Teach Girls To Be Modest; That Sexualizes Them

Don’t Teach Girls To Be Modest; That Sexualizes Them

–  A couple years ago, I wrote a series defending the belief that women and girls should dress modestly.  I thought that modesty was good because it was considerate of others, allowed women to be treated with more respect, and accented femininity. – But, according to opponents of humility in dress, modesty actually sexualizes girls.  – It’s always baffled me how some could make such arguments. Modesty is the exact opposite of objectifying! – On Facebook, some of my Christian, homeschooled, friends were sharing this article, (don’t waste your time reading it) which explains how modesty apparently sexualizes, specifically, through the banning of leggings and yoga pants in schools.  – There are several very poor arguments and assumptions made in this post which Christians should never buy into.  – Here are three of them. –  1. Your comfort is more important than the comfort of others: –  The article makes the point that the our own comfort is more important than the comfort of others. The article states that, “Girls clothing is not and should not be responsible for boys’ behavior.” This is a true statement, however, the article goes on to argue consideration of others should not be a factor in determining what to wear. I find it troubling that Christians are buying into this line of reasoning. –  Those who defend the wearing of yoga pants always claim that their reasons are solely based on comfort. While I highly doubt that’s the only reason for many woman, that is still not a good reason. –  We don’t have a right to do whatever we want if it harms... read more
I Am A Sexist

I Am A Sexist

My recent post describing the reasons why I don’t participate in ballroom dancing seems to have upset a lot of people. In fact, I was even called a legalist and a sexist. Someone needs to stop me because I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to hug or dance with girls outside my family. I’m dangerous. Yes, because I don’t feel like I have a right to touch and hold the bodies of girls and women, I must be a sexist. – Then I realized my scoffers are right. In today’s modern society, I am a sexist. –  Being a sexist used to mean you believed one gender was superior to the other. This is now called “hostile sexism”. It’s pretty obvious to everyone today (except radical Feminists) that both genders are equal in value. The Bible confirms this in Genesis 1:27, – “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”  – Clearly, both men and women are created in the image of God. Both men and women reflect God’s character, so they are equal in value. – So I’m not a sexist, right? I believe men and women are equal in worth. – Wrong!  – Today, you are also a sexist if you believe men and women are different, or that men and women should treat each other differently than members of their own gender. Many refer to this kind of “sexism” as “Benevolent sexism.” If that sounds confusing , just think “Chivalry.” Chivalry is considered benevolent sexism today.–“As it turns out, men and women... read more

University Unmasked: 01 – University State Is Great!

I attended Convocation the other day, which was basically an initiation into the school (which I will refer to as “University State” from here on out.) Just prior to convocation, my business survey class was held. One of the emphases of this initial session was to make us aware of our required participation in a “first year success series” where we would learn valuable information on how to have a successful first year at college”. This series involves a number of sessions we are required to attend, including a “Peer Leader” session where we learn valuable information key to our first year success…such as where to buy contraceptives on campus.   Click to see a video clip (There were even two guys smoking during the ceremony) After survey class, we were walked over to an old basketball arena. Student volunteers lined the sidewalks while our class of 7,000 was ushered into the dome. The upperclassman cheered and gave high-fives, like we were going to some grand event. The reality didn’t quite fit the hype.  – We sat and listened to dignitaries of the school give speeches on how great our university is, and what great things we would all accomplish. I think the university’s goal was to get us excited about being a part of the school, and to inspire us to try hard and do well, which means it was pretty much a waste of time. However, I was told some useful information. One of the speakers talked about how we would be meeting a lot of different people, with different beliefs, values, and sexual orientations, and that... read more
When Speaking The Truth Makes You A Target

When Speaking The Truth Makes You A Target

I recently came across a very good Youtuber by the user name of “Christy0Misty”. I watched her series on Feminism and it was so good I wanted to share it here on my blog. – Unfortunately, in my attempt to find out more about her, I learned that she has deleted her channel and left Youtube, as a result of an overwhelming backlash of hate-mail and threats (though her videos have been uploaded by other users.) This situation reminded me of just how dangerous the truth can be, and that we really are at war against the lies and deceit of the enemy. –  Satan will do everything he can to stop the truth from being known. Why? Because all truth leads back to God. If the truth can be destroyed or twisted, then evil can fester and spread. We as Christians cannot shy away from the truth.  – Jesus spoke in parables because if He had spoken bluntly, then He would have been murdered much sooner than He was. However, privately to His disciples, He always explained what His parables meant when they asked. However, later Jesus told His disciples, “What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.”  – I don’t think I’ve done as good a job at “proclaiming upon the housetops” as I could have. But Christy0Misty, and others like her remind me that we all have to boldly proclaim the truth in love. If you watch her videos, you will see that she handled the topic of Feminism very professionally... read more
